President Suzon Kemp appointed the Committee of Advisors in January 2017. The purpose of the committee is to contribute expertise, advice and name recognition to the current and future efforts of the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Austin. The committee is composed of outstanding Phi Beta Kappa community leaders based in the greater Austin area who have been stellar examples of excellence in their lives and careers.

We are pleased to share some thoughts from our Committee of Advisors.

"The moment I learned that I had been accepted into Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Texas changed everything.  I felt that all my years of study in college had been recognized and I was forever encouraged to work hard and to pursue excellence."

Libby Doggett, Ph.D.

“Membership in Phi Beta Kappa keeps before me the values of intellect and service that change the world for the better.”

Cynthia Kittredge, Th.D.

"I am honored to serve as an advisor for the Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Association of Greater Austin.  I admire PBK for celebrating and advocating for excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and for sponsoring activities to advance the humanities, the social sciences, and the natural sciences -- in higher education and in society at large."

Alice V. White, Ph.D.
