We are thrilled to announce that Justin Beaman, Social Studies teacher at LBJ Early College High School in Austin, has been selected as the recipient of our 2024 Teaching Excellence Award.

These are some of the many reasons why Mr. Beaman was selected over all other applicants this year:

• Since becoming a teacher, Justin has expertly taught a wide variety of courses in both Social Studies and mathematics. In addition, he has coached track, basketball, and football with great success.

• In the classroom, Justin demonstrates strong evidence of innovation and creativity in teaching methods and classroom activities that promote inclusivity and incorporate diverse perspectives. It was clear from his application and recommendations that his approach empowers students to become active, informed citizens.

• In addition, through participation in professional development activities and leadership institutes, Justin has proven himself to be a life-long learner and an exceptional leader who is always willing to share resources, collaborate on projects, and mentor fellow teachers.
